Varenna

Ok so I said Lake Como because that is what most people recognize, but
in fact we are stationed in Varenna which is very close to Bellaggio
and Menaggio. These three cities form a triangle at the bottom of the
northern part of the lake. Think of an upside down "Y" with Lake Como
on the left Lake Lecco on the right. We are close to the center of the
"Y". If you follow the stem of the upside down "Y" going north you
can see the Pre-Alps and Switzerland is just beyond that point.

In this photo we visited one of the many villas with elaborate
gardens, Villa Monastero in Varenna.
