Lucca Touring

Thurs. Sept. 4 @ 9:30 am

We woke up and headed straight to the tourist center because we had no
idea what we wanted to see or how to get around.
Tourist office was opening in a half hour so we popped in next door to
a cafeteria where a lot of locals were having breakfast.
A warm brioche filled with apricots and milk for Grace and a warm roll
filled with Nutella and an espresso for me. Mmmm Nutella in the
morning !

The main attractions were .. you guessed it, churches. Each church has
its own bit of history, so it was great that Grace printed out a whole
bunch of info that we could read once inside.

In the attached picture you will find the Piazza Anfiteatro. The
buildings built in the Middle Ages actually follow the line of a 2nd
century amphitheater. The amphitheater itself was still visible up
until 1930.
