Bell Tower and Duomo

The Duomo is free to visit however they charge 6 Euro for the pleasure
of climbing some 400 odd steps up the tower :) it is quite the view
though. You can see all of Florence and the Tuscan hills in the
distance.

The Duomo is very impressive from the outside (as is the Bell Tower
and the Baptistry) It is especially wonderful to spot any of these
structures as you are rounding a corner of one of Florence's narrow
streets. The Duomo pops out over rooftops several times as your
touring this area and its a great landmark to help orient yourself.

We weren't as impressed with the inside however except of course the
ceiling of the Duomo.

Next was a climb up the tower. I have to admit we are both feeling
quite fatigued by this point in the trip. Grace decided to sit this
one out. I didn't climb it in '93, and Fondo was game. So we went for
it.
